ECE Professor David Albonesi’s 1999 paper entitled “ Selective Cache Ways: On-Demand Cache Resource Allocation” has been recognized as one of MICRO’s most influential publications of the last half century. The MICRO Test of Time (ToT) award is presented during the International Symposium on Microarchitecture to an exclusive selection of publications which have had significant impact in the field. A paper co-authored by Mariola Ndrio, Subhonmesh Bose, Ye Guo, and Lang Tong (ECE) won one of the Prize Conference Paper awards at the 2019 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting (PESGM), the society’s flagship conference. The award was given to the best papers selected from the Best Conference Paper sessions, which Tong has now won two years in a row. ECE Professors Lang Tong and Edward Suh are the co-principal investigators of a $1.2m award from the National Science Foundation under the Cyber-Physical Systems program. The National Science Foundation (NSF) has selected Margaret Martonosi to serve as head of the Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE).
