The College of Engineering has selected Christopher Batten as recipient of the Michael Tien '72 Excellence in Teaching Award and the James M. and Marsha D. McCormick Award for Outstanding Advising of First-Year Engineering Students.
The College of Engineering has selected Christopher Batten as recipient of the Michael Tien '72 Excellence in Teaching Award. This is the highest award for teaching in the college.
Batten was nominated by colleagues from ECE and then selected by a committee, comprised of former teaching prize winners from within the College of Engineering. He is also the recipient of the James M. and Marsha D. McCormick Award for Outstanding Advising of First-Year Engineering Students.
"I am very honored to receive these awards from the College," said Batten. "I find working with students whether in teaching, advising, or research to be the absolute best part of my job. I am continually impressed by our students' excitement about learning new concepts, interest in challenging old assumptions, and fearlessness in attempting ambitious projects."
