I came to ECE at Cornell as the research topics suggested by professors in FoIE (Foundation of Information Engineering) were of most interest to me, and I would be able to start early in summer. Also, Cornell ECE has a relatively smaller size than many other top-ranked ECE schools, which renders a more focused and personalized environment that suits me better.
I am amazed at the breadth and depth of the knowledge and understanding my advisor has for various research areas, and he and many other professors in the department are always there to support me in my search to better my research and career. I really like the active and dynamic academic environment in the department. The staff in ECE are very considerate and efficient in dealing with all kinds of administrative issues. I have also made a lot of friends in ECE, both M.Eng. and Ph.D. students.
