Jessie Lin, Cornell ECE Undergraduate Class of 2014
I chose ECE because I thought it was a very practical and interesting major. For me, I wanted to learn how various technologies we use in life work. I wanted to know how incoming calls are routed to your cell phone and why a camera can recognize your face. I've learned the answers through ECE. In ECE you get to learn how technology in real life works and gain the skills to make them better.
My undergraduate years here have been amazing. I have found the field that I want to commit to, which is very important. I'm especially glad that I've participated in undergraduate research. I have learned so much from doing research, both technical skills and work ethic. I have also made many ECE friends here and we have a lot fun together both in class and out of class.
