I chose Cornell because it provided me with an opportunity to work with pioneers and world leaders in the field of photonics. The extremely warm welcome given by the department, along with its commitment to supporting the students was another reason for my decision to come here.
Being at Cornell brought me in touch with the multifarious expertise of researchers and peers, which means that most research-related questions I have can be answered just by walking around and talking to different people. There also is a very strong sense of community, something that is extremely essential during the long years of graduate school.
