Yüksel receives 2018 Outstanding TA Award from Cornell ECE

Hazal Yüksel, a Ph.D. candidate from the Molnar Group has been selected to receive the 2018 Electrical and Computer Engineering Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award. She served as the head teaching assistant for ECE 3150, Introduction to Microelectronics for Associate Professor Farhan Rana, holding office hours, a weekly recitation session and a lab section. 

“I had a blast working with the students,” she said. “The level of creativity and dedication the students had towards their final projects was really inspiring. Many of the students in that class then went on to take a class I taught the next semester, ECE 4530, Analog Integrated Circuit Design.” 

Nine ECE Ph.D. students were nominated for the TA Award in 2018. The overall number of nominations submitted along with the high quality of them all impressed the Committee tasked with selecting a winner. Yüksel will receive a monetary award and an engraved plaque.  

“I think my proudest moment was when a student told me that an interviewer asked a question about a concept that we had just gone over in class, and she totally nailed it!” she said. “All in all, I'm very grateful for getting to work with such curious and dedicated students, many of whom later became lab members with our group.” 

Yüksel is a current Ph.D. candidate with the Molnar Group in the School of Electrical and Computer at Cornell University. She received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University in Durham, NC in 2012. Her research focuses on widely tunable ultra-flexible diplexing transceivers and signal processing for software defined radios.
