Philip Gordon was born in New Hartford, New York. He graduated with highest honors from Tufts University in 2010 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He interned in Group 33, Ranges and Test Beds at MIT Lincoln Laboratory before becoming a PhD student at Cornell University.
He is Co-Social Chair of the Electron Device Society at Cornell, Co-Captain of the Johnson School Rugby Football Club, and enjoys any sport involving a ball.
He is currently interested in transistor based biosensors with the aim of high temporal and spatial resolution. The goal being to leverage the maturity and scalability of the semiconductor industry to problems of diffraction-limited problems in biology.
