Biography:
Prof. Gourdain works in the field of fusion energy since 1997, just after coming out of college. He studied at UCSD and at UCLA. He earned his Ph.D. in theoritical plasma physics in 2001. He moved to Cornell University in 2008 to work in the Laboratory of Plasmas Studies on high energy density plasmas. It is a new and emerging branch of plasma physics which can help producing fusion power.
Research interests:
* Fusion Energy
* Wire array implosion
* Radial and cylindrical foil explosion
* Plasma-beam interaction
* X-ray radiations
* Astrophysics
