ECE's Leading Edge Preparation for a Professional Career

Faculty

You probably know Cornell University as one of the world’s leading research universities. But you may not know about our strong emphasis on excellent teaching. We choose outstanding faculty, foster their development as effective teachers, and create an environment that supports working closely with students. In ECE, our faculty have earned the greatest number of national teaching awards of any school of electrical or computer engineering. Learn more about awards our ECE faculty have won and then explore their individual profiles and research interests.

Students are generally surprised to find how easily and comfortably they can talk with the distinguished researcher-teachers that form our faculty. Open doors, long hours in labs, coffee in Duffield Hall’s atrium, and presence at all kinds of Cornell events are quite common. Many students and faculty develop lifelong relationships.

“I chose Cornell because it offers the area of which I am interested in. I also like the fact that faculty is very supportive, willing to talk and helping students. The other plus side to Cornell is its diversity outside engineering; even though I am a Ph. D student in electrical engineering, I still have the chance to interact with many people from other disciplines to broaden my view and perspective on various issues.”
